Barber Tony&Son Brussels — beard trim and shaving

Beard trim and traditional shaving

Our beard trim always starts with a conversation — face shape, growth pattern, what you want. Precision clippers, scissors for finishing, straight razor for the edges. Traditional cutthroat shaving with hot towel available. American fades (skin fade, mid fade, taper) mastered on all textures.

Kids haircuts — patience and care

For boys who want their first fade or a cut like dad's, our kids haircut is done gently. Our barbers adapt to the child's pace with patience and kindness. Same price for boys and girls, from €25.

Facial waxing

Eyebrows, upper lip, chin — our facial waxing is a quick, warm-wax gesture at €10. Can be combined with a beard trim or haircut in the same session, just mention it when booking.

Men's hair colouring

To cover first grey hairs or refresh a dull shade, our hair colouring adapts to men's hair texture — discreet tone-on-tone or full colour. From €40.

Men's haircut — not just a clipper run

Let's be honest: finding a good men's haircut in Brussels isn't always easy. Plenty of guys end up at a barber who runs the clippers for ten minutes, hands you the mirror and says "there you go". With us, the haircut starts with a conversation. We look at the shape of your head, the thickness of your hair, and most importantly: what you actually want. A high or low fade, a soft transition, length on top or not — we don't assume, we ask.

And for the Schuman regulars who drop in between noon and two: yes, we can deliver a clean cut in 25 minutes. But if you want to take your time, that works too. From €25, shampoo included.

Finding a good barber in Brussels — the real problem

If you've ever typed "good barber Brussels" on Google or Reddit, you know it's a topic that comes up over and over. Forums are full of guys reporting they walked out of a barber shop with an asymmetric fade or a beard contour that doesn't even follow the jawline. The worst part? When you've paid €30 or €40 and the result looks nothing like the photo you brought.

We're not going to promise we're the best barbers in Belgium — that's for you to judge. What we can tell you is that we've been here since 1970, our barbers work on every hair texture (European, North African, Afro, Asian), and if something isn't right, you say so before you leave. We'd rather redo a contour than let you walk out with something you don't love.

The fade question

The fade is probably the most-requested cut in Brussels right now. Skin fade, mid fade, taper — there's a real difference between the three, and not every barber masters all three on every texture. A skin fade on fine hair isn't the same technique as on tightly coiled hair. With us, the barber adjusts the clipper and the gesture to what's under his fingers, not to a YouTube tutorial.

Free tip: if your barber starts a fade without asking where you want the transition to begin, switch barbers. Seriously.

Beards and ingrown hairs — nobody talks about it

Another topic we see often on forums: ingrown hairs after a shave. It's a real issue, especially on sensitive skin and curly or coiled hair. The main cause? Too close a shave with a dirty or wrongly-angled blade, which cuts the hair below the skin surface.

At Tony&Son we use a fresh disposable blade for every client — not negotiable. And if your skin reacts badly to a classic shave, we say so up front: we'll opt for a very-short clipper finish rather than the cutthroat. The goal is for you to be happy two weeks later, not just when you leave the chair.

Don't speak French? No stress

Brussels is a mix. In the Schuman quarter, you have expats from 27 countries working at the Commission. In Schaerbeek, families from Turkey, Morocco, Congo. At Tony&Son we speak French, English, Italian and Spanish. And honestly, for a haircut, a photo on your phone speaks louder than a thousand words in any language.

By appointment or walk-in?

We work by appointment via Treatwell — that way you know exactly when you're coming and you don't sit on a chair for 45 minutes. But if you walk past the salon on Rue Bonneels and there's a free slot, we won't turn you away. Wednesday lunchtimes are busiest (EU-institution lunch break), so book ahead if that's your slot.
